THE CLIMB WILL BE GUIDED BY OUR AFRICAN AMBASSADOR AND WELL EXPERIENCED CLIMBING GUIDE, ALEX JOHN. ALEX HAS 158 SUCCESSFUL CLIMBS WITH 1,258 CLIENTS UNDER HIS BELT, AND HOLDS A WILD MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE FROM THE COLLEGE OF AFRICAN WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT, FIRST AID AND CPR DIPLOMAS, AND A CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION CERTIFICATE EARNED IN ALVDALEN, SWEDEN.

Trip Itinerary (MACHAME ROUTE – 7 DAYS):

Location: Kilimanajaro, Tanzania

Total Cost: Approximately $1,950 per person, climbing cost only. Additional fees will be
incurred for transfers, meals off the mountain, hotel stay.

(Fees are non-transferable or refundable. Fees from a cancelled participation will be treated as a donation to Project Change).

You must be 18 and over to register for this event.

Climbling Mt. Kilimanjoro:

Day 1 – At 9 am, we leave Arusha for the Machame Gate (6-7 hour hike, elevation gain 3,935 feet)

Day 2 – Machame Camp to Shira Camp (6-8 hour hike, elevation gain 2,760 feet)

Day 3 – Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (6-8 hour hike, elevation gain 2,264 feet)

Day 4 – Barranco Camp to Karanga Valley (3-5 hour hike, elevation gain 820 feet)

Day 5 – Karanga Valley to Barafu Camp (3-4 hour hike, elevation gain 1,320 feet)

Day 6 – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (6-7 hour hike to the rim, 1 hour to Uhuru, 3-4 hour hike back to Barafu Camp, 4 hour down to Mweka Camp, elevation gain 4,240, elevation loss 9,170 feet). This is the most challenging part of the climb. Climb to the peak begins at midnight.

Day 7 – Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (4 hour hike, elevation loss 5,250 feet)

· Fees do not include airfare, accommodations and meals in Arusha, gratuities to porters and guides, visa fees, insurance.

· The price could be lower depending on the amount of people.

· A 5 day Safari can be accommodated by our local Tanzanian agency (includes Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park). Approximate cost: $1700 pp.

· A 3 day Safari can be accommodated by our local Tanzanian agency (includes Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park). Approximate cost: $900 pp.

· An extension to Pemba Island or Zanzibar can be accommodated by our local Tanzanian agency.

· Single Room Supplements apply.

· Vaccinations are required for entry into Tanzania. Consult your doctor for details.

· Single Entry visas are required.
