Joseph R. Kony is the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army, a guerrilla group that formerly operated in Uganda – one of the most feared and dangerous guerrilla’s of our time!
Kony has been accused by government entities of ordering the abduction of children to become child soldiers and sex slaves. 66,000 children became soldiers, and 2 million people were displaced internally from 1986 to 2009.
The effects of Kony’s warfare is still felt throughout the region, and will take years to rebuild the destruction and devastation left in his path.Read more about Kony here.
What our Project is all about:
· Providing housing and safety to girls/ young adult woman from the ages of 14 years and
up.
· Providing these girls with an education.
· Providing these girls with a safety barrier, a place where they are no longer slaves; or are no longer at risk of being sold as young brides.
· Providing them with the tools and skills to become “income earners” as we teach them to sew, bake bread, make yoghurt, soap and the list goes on.
