Meet our Founders

Anne Reinstein
Founder & Vice President
Anne Reinstein, CPA, has been a trusted tax accountant in private practice in South Florida since 2000. Her global travels to developing countries ignited a lifelong commitment to uplifting children—both locally and abroad—through meaningful charitable work.
A dedicated supporter of local nonprofits and an unwavering animal advocate, Anne has volunteered as an English educator in India and personally sponsors a children’s orphanage in her native Peru. Her fierce yet compassionate advocacy is deeply informed by her own life experiences, giving her profound empathy for the challenges faced by vulnerable children and women.
Anne is a passionate champion for the children of Project Change. When she’s not running marathons, rescuing animals, or exploring the world, she’s quietly raising funds and working behind the scenes to ensure that the most overlooked children are never forgotten.
Cheryl-Dene Spring
Founder & President
Cheryl-Dene is a dedicated real estate attorney & real estate broker in South Florida. Born and raised in South Africa, she arrived in the U.S. at 18, fueled by an unyielding passion and drive for success.
Before her move to America, Cheryl-Dene lived for several years in an orphanage and group home for children in Pretoria. During this time she was separated from her siblings, which was very difficult. It was during this time that she would see children live on the street, while she was in a group home. This experience inspired her lifelong dedication to supporting children in similar situations worldwide.
Among the meaningful changes she’s championed are keeping siblings together, renaming orphanages with uplifting titles, and guaranteeing access to education and clean water for every child.
Cheryl-Dene uses her platform to inspire others to make a difference. Drawing from her personal journey, Cheryl-Dene continues to foster enduring, positive transformations.
Alex John - African Ambassador
Alex John was born and raised in Arusha, Tanzania, to a mother who faced many financial and social difficulties, due to her husband’s desertion. His father was the main bread winner, so after his departure the family fell on very hard times. Alex had to quit school at a very young age to begin his new life’s journey – a mountain porter for Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. He was just 17, but this was his only way to support himself and his mother. self and his mother.
After two years of being a porter, Alex saved enough money to enroll in his first ‘Tour Guide Class’, and after another 2 years he became an assistant guide on the Mountain. In 2006, he had a chance meeting with Anne Reinstein, who was so impressed with him that she sponsored him to take his higher outdoor leadership and wildlife management course at Mweka College (CAWM) and later in Sweden to further his studies. Not only is Alex now a mountain and safari guide in East Africa, but he is also Vice Chairman of the Kilimanjaro Guides Association, which ensure the mountain guides and porters have rights. Alex has also always volunteered his time, spending it with orphans, helping them with the little things they need, and sharing his food with street children of Arusha and Moshi, the town he spent so much time in.
Alex has always dreamed of providing assistance to the kids in communities that he grew up in, and joined Project Change as our African Ambassador spreading the word globally.
