About The Foundation

The Needy Hands Foundation was born from a simple, powerful belief: that faith expressed in service can transform lives. We work directly on the ground in the Dominican Republic, reaching those who fall through every crack — widows raising families alone, children with no one to care for them, people whose disabilities leave them dependent on the charity of others.

We believe in dignified, holistic care. Not charity that diminishes — but presence, provision, and genuine partnership with communities working toward their own flourishing.

Emilia Polanco & Family

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Emilia moved to the United States at 15. Growing up on her grandparents' farm, she learned the values of hard work, service, and community from her grandfather — a respected local leader.

She spent five years on missionary trips to Nicaragua, helping children and families in need. Everything she does is rooted in her deep faith in God — she believes her calling to serve comes directly from Him.

A proud mother of two compassionate daughters and married to a highly supportive husband, Emilia balances family with purpose. With over 20 years of experience in sales, events, and hospitality, she currently serves as General Manager of Upper Deck Seafood and Sports in Hallandale Beach, Florida.

Emilia leads with heart, vision, and unwavering faith — turning God's love into meaningful impact for her family and community.
